How do I know if I have a rat problem?Signs of a rat infestation include droppings, gnaw marks on food packaging or wires, scratching or scurrying noises in walls or ceilings, and nesting materials such as shredded paper or fabric. Rats are generally nocturnal, so you may not see them during the day but still notice these signs.

I have been trapping them, why do they keep coming back?
Rats are a year-round pest in Colorado, and many homeowners struggle with DIY methods to address the problem. By the time a homeowner sees a rat on their property, the infestation has often progressed beyond the point where DIY solutions are effective. Snap traps, a common choice, not only pose risks to kids and pets but also fail to eliminate the population quickly. Rats reproduce rapidly, and as they begin to associate traps with danger, they become cautious and avoid them, further delaying resolution.
Trapping alone often results in prolonged infestations, allowing the problem to worsen over time. If you spot a rat in your home, calling a professional exterminator like Mice Masters is the fastest and most reliable way to take control. Let us provide you with effective and lasting solutions!
-
Are DIY methods like traps and store-bought bait effective?DIY methods can occasionally catch or kill individual rats, but they rarely address the entire infestation. Rats are intelligent and often learn to avoid traps, while store-bought bait typically lacks the potency and strategic placement needed for complete control. At Mice Masters we have a proven method to getting rid of most rat infestations within 2 weeks!
-
How long does it take to resolve a rat infestation? Most rat infestations are resolved within two weeks using our baiting method. We include a follow-up visit to ensure the problem has been fully addressed, and the homeowner does not need to be home for the follow-up unless advised otherwise by the technician.
-
Can I stay in my home during treatment?Yes, our treatments are designed to be minimally invasive and safe, so you can remain in your home without disruption. Follow-up visits are also completed without requiring you to be present.
-
Do I need to be home for the follow-up service? No, you do not need to be present for the follow-up service, as it is typically conducted on the exterior of your home. If the technician determines an interior follow-up is necessary, they will inform you in advance but it is very unlikely as most follow-ups only require the exterior of the home.
-
How can I help make the treatment more effective? You can help the treatment work better by reducing clutter around your property, such as piles of logs, sticks, or other materials that provide hiding spots for rats. Additionally, tidying up food products by storing them in sealed containers and promptly cleaning up crumbs or spills will remove potential food sources. These steps make the treatment more effective and help prevent future infestations.
-
Does your rodent treatment include a warranty?Yes, our rodent treatments come with a 3-month warranty for your peace of mind. The warranty begins on the day of the follow-up service and ensures that any additional rodent issues during this period will be addressed at no extra cost. This coverage reflects our commitment to providing effective and lasting solutions for your home or business.
